Over the years we have converted models for testing of conversion development that have not been put into general production. This was either due to the cost for producing such a conversion or due to the lack of interest shown in a conversion for the model.
We have listed these models below along with ones we have done for customer commissions just in case anyone may be interested in these models and have questions about them. All these conversions, unless otherwise specified, have had new wheels, Axles, Crank pins, Balance weights and Final drive gear fitted.
Key:
Development test - Model converted to test the feasibility and requirements for such conversion
Customer commission - Model supplied by customer and converted to their requirements.
Batch Run - Done as a Production batch run.

Comments:
During conversion we did find one odd problem. All the wheels fitted to the model we had would seem to have 1.5mm stub axles. This size fits into both the outside frame for the pick up and into the plastic insulating muff for both the power bogies and articulated bogies. Except for just one axle in one of the power bogies that had different size stub axles. the diameter that fitted into the outside frame is still 1.5mm, but the diameter that fitted into the plastic muff was 1.8mm. As a result a stepped stub axle had to be made to complete the conversion.

Comments:
One thing to note with this model is that the magnet in the motor lifts the centre axle and wheels of the power bogie off the track. This was fixed by replaceing the 2.5mm steel axle with a brass one of the same diameter.

Comments:
Due to the limited space between the frames on this model a standard conversion to either EM or 18.83 is not possible with a 'Drop-in' wheel set without moving the frames out. However, we have been able to produce a 'Drop-in' conversion for EM & 18.83 by reducing the tyre width on both the EMF and 18.83 wheel profiles. This new EMF tyre we are calling EMF(F) and the new 18.83 tyre we are calling 18.83(F) and these modifications have allowed us to produce conversions that fit without the need to move out the frames or modify the brake gear or other detail.

Comments:
Due to the limited space between the inside of the splashers and the front tyre face of the wheel, we converted this model to EM using our EMF wheel profile (the same setup we use for Pendon) as a result there has been no need to make any changes to the body of the model to clear either the wheels or the crank pins. The only problem if you call it that, is the pick-ups on the tender. These are only long enough for 'OO' and for any other gauge will need to be modified as required.

Comments:
As we do not have the correct wheels for this model we used the nearest ones we had for both the loco and the tender. In this case GWR 5' 2" for the driving wheels and GWR 4' 1 1/2" for the tender wheels. A new brass final drive gear and balance weights were also produced.
The only modifications done to the loco body and the tender was to widen the rear splashers and to move out the brake gear on the loco, move out the tender sideframes to clear the 18.83 tender wheels and to modifiy the tender drawbar pin so the drawbar can be adjusted.
